Frequently asked
Do I actually place implants, or do I just watch?
Answered by Dr. William Choi
You place them yourself. In the surgical suite you perform the procedures hands-on, on live patients, with Dr. Kang and me guiding you step by step. The group splits in two: half works with me in the morning and half with Dr. Kang. You switch after lunch, so everyone gets time with both surgeons.
What procedures will I perform?
Answered by Dr. Brandon Kang
It depends on the patients in the chair that day, which is why every surgery day starts with a case review. On Monday (Basic), that can include guided single-unit and multi-unit placement, immediate implants where indicated, and osseous condensation for soft bone and sinus lifts. On Tuesday (Full-Arch), you take a case from surgical placement through immediate provisionalization.
Do I need implant experience to sign up?
Answered by Dr. William Choi
Monday's Basic course is built for clinicians building their implant foundation. Tuesday's Full-Arch course is for clinicians ready to take on full-arch cases. [Confirm any prerequisites, e.g. “Full-Arch requires prior placement experience or completing Basic.”] If you're not sure which fits, reach out and we'll help you choose.
What happens in the Friday virtual session?
Answered by Dr. Stephanie Yeung and Jun Hee Kim
Friday is live online, 12 PM PT / 3 PM ET, for about 3–4 hours. We go through digital treatment planning, surgical guide design and the prosthetic plan, so when you walk into the surgical suite on Monday you already know the plan for each case. Good surgery starts with good planning.
What does tuition cost, and what's included?
Answered by Jun Hee Kim
- One course (Basic or Full-Arch) plus the Friday virtual session: $3,000, or $2,500 out-of-state.
- Both courses plus the virtual session: $5,000, or $4,000 out-of-state. That saves $1,000.
- Out-of-state registration includes didactic and observational participation only.
- Tuition includes 1 universal kit, 3 Nobel Biocare implants and 3 healing abutments.
- Larger implant bundles include the Nobel Surgical Kit, and the 60-implant bundle adds the Procera T-Marker Kit.
- The Procera Experience Bundle is an optional add-on.
When and where are the courses, and how many CE credits do I earn?
Answered by Jun Hee Kim
There are 10 sessions from February to November 2027, all in the SF Bay Area. [Add the venue or city once you're ready to share it.] You can earn up to 20 CE credits. [Confirm the final CE count.] The full calendar is on the Courses page.
What happens after the course?
Answered by Dr. Stephanie Yeung
The course is where the learning starts. Our membership, launching soon, keeps you connected:
- Virtual track: live case planning and bring-your-own-case review.
- Surgical track (for course alumni): priority booking and the option to request specific procedures, or to bring your own full-arch patient.
